Herbal Home remedies for Asthma

A chronic disease, asthma is related to problems in the respiratory system. Asthma is an ancient Greek word, which means ‘panting or short drawn breath’. Age is not a factor for this disease, as it can affect young and old alike. Asthma causes shortness of breath, constriction of the airways, coughing, wheezing and excess mucus in the air way.   • 1 tsp of ginger juice mixed with i cup of methi kadha and some honey taken morning and in evening.
  • About a fistful of sahajan leaves boiled in 150ml of water for 5mins,this is taken adding a pinch of salt ,and black papper.
  • 5 knots of garlic ,boiled ┬áin 30ml of milk and taken daily.
  • 2 knots of garlic added in ginger tea taken twice daily.
  • steam inhalation of ajwain.
  • boil 4-5 lavanga in 125ml water for 5 mins -this should be taken hot by adding honey to it.
  • saindravadi taila massage on chest in attack.
  • castor oil daily 10ml with luke warm milk.
  • Warm a ripe banana on a slow flame. Mash it and sprinkle some black pepper on it. Have this for instant relief.
  • soak dry grapes in water at night and keep in cold milk for half an hour and chew them.
  • Take turmeric with honey in morning on empty stomach to reduce intensity of attack and as a remedy.
  • Mustard oil mix with little camphor ,massaged over back of chest.
  • Honey is considered highly beneficial at the time of attack ,a jug full of honey should be placed under the nose within few mins the patient starts breathing easily.
  • Another remedy would be to take a glass of limejuice, to which a teaspoonful of ginger juice has been added
  • Consumption of three to four dry figs every morning would prove useful in curing a person of asthmatic attack..
